Folic acid+ Pyridoxine+ Doxylamine is a combination medicine comprising three drugs used to provide relief from nausea and vomiting during pregnancy. Doxylamine is an antihistamine that works by inhibiting the action of a chemical messenger (histamine), thereby controlling nausea, vomiting, and dizziness. Pyridoxine (vitamin B6) is a form of vitamin B which possesses anti-nausea properties. Folic acid is also a type of Vitamin B essential to maintain healthy women’s reproductive health. Nausea and vomiting during pregnancy also called morning sickness are common symptoms of pregnancy. It begins during the 6th week of pregnancy lasting up to the 18th week. However, few women experience morning sickness throughout their gestation. Morning sickness can lead to loss of electrolytes and weight loss in pregnant women.
Take this medicine as per the dosage and duration prescribed by your doctor. The common side effects of Folic acid+ Pyridoxine+ Doxylamine are dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, tiredness, and constipation. These side effects are usually mild to moderate. However, if any of these side effects persist or get severe, inform your doctor immediately.
